Repair is not about saying the perfect sentence.
It’s about staying regulated long enough to complete the process.
Most people know they should repair, but they cannot access repair under stress.
When activation rises, cognitive flexibility narrows.
Language collapses.
Threat perception increases.
Identity becomes defensive.
The Repair Arc exists because repair must become procedural.
Not conceptual. Procedural.
The Structure
The arc runs in three phases.
Month 1: Interrupt Escalation
Month 2: Work With the Trigger
Month 3: Practice Repair
Each phase builds the capacity required for the next.
Month 1: Interrupt Escalation
Repair is impossible if escalation continues.
This phase trains early recognition of activation and the ability to interrupt protest, attack, or shutdown.
Without interruption, nothing else matters.
Month 2: Work With the Trigger
Once escalation can be interrupted, attention shifts inward.
What activates you?
What story forms instantly?
What identity feels threatened?
This phase separates trigger from character.
Shame decreases.
Defensiveness softens.
Cognitive flexibility returns faster.
Month 3: Practice Repair
Only now is direct repair practiced deliberately.
Clear repair language.
Direct initiation.
Staying regulated long enough to complete the process.
Repair becomes something you can initiate, not something you wait for.

A rotating arc revisits interruption, trigger work, and repair in cycles so capacity builds progressively.
